I am an abstract painter and the medium I use is primarily acrylic. Because my procedures are unplanned I work intuitively to build up paint layers creating surface texture, altering and adding what is most essential to the development of the work. Through this editing process an application may be rejected because it might become unrelated to the whole of the piece, forcing me to probe new approaches to modify an existing idea.
My marks have true purpose that translate into a unique form and ultimately into the final interpretation. From there a tension may be created and I believe my work has a passionate yet quiet drama, at times intense while at other times sentimental, with an awareness of place and a sense of atmosphere. I continually push my limits, which transform me and allow me to evolve further.
